Improve STEMI Outcomes
The Official AHA Online STEMI Recognition Course

According to the American Heart Association, studies show that a person experiencing an ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) suffers less heart damage and has an improved chance of survival if they are treated within 90 minutes from onset of symptoms. Each year, many patients with STEMI fail to receive critical reperfusion therapy in a timely fashion and nearly 30% of STEMI patients do not receive any form of treatment to restore blood flow. In order to have effective, rapid treatment of patients with STEMI, it is essential that emergency healthcare providers are educated to immediately recognize and treat STEMI. As a result, the American Heart Association and Laerdal Medical alliance has created Learn:™ Rapid STEMI ID. This course prepares an individual to evaluate and assess victims with potential symptoms of myocardial infarction, interpret their ECG for signs of STEMI, and activate a system of care for rapid reperfusion of an occluded coronary artery.

Impact:
Improve STEMI Patient Outcomes
  • Reduce delays with triaging, evaluating, and treating a patient suspected of STEMI
  • Improve decision-making skills with accurate differentiation of 12-Lead ECG
  • Improve awareness of the STEMI Systems of Care and the roles of each discipline to act quickly
Meet The Joint Commission Requirements
  • Door-to-balloon time for STEMI patients has become a National Hospital Quality Measure
Features:
  • Interactive, self-paced and convenient alternative to a classroom course
  • Implement as an individual course or as a prerequisite to either HeartCode ACLS or a traditional ACLS course
  • Reinforces learning with mini-games that allow users to test themselves
  • Enables learners to review detailed characteristics and components of 12-lead ECG strips and learn to identify STEMI and when to call Heart Alert
